For example, I'd like to add the events on the home page buti'd like to use a carousel slider that displays the upcoming events. Is this something possible at the moment? if not, Is this something can you guys do in the future
Sorry, currently there's no built-in carousel feature. Perhaps we could add carousel in the future or provide some sort of tutorial how to impement it using third party carousel plugin.
I can send you PHP example how to obtain future events data if that's somehow useful to you.
