The directions button displays the shortest route from A to B as displayed on the map.
For step by step directions from google maps click on "Open Map" button.
Note you should add decimal coordinates for your locations. From Dashboard -> STEC -> Locations -> Add / Edit location -> Coordinates field. You should have auto fill button next to coordinates field.
