There should be no problem translating the calendar with Loco Translate plugin.
The new version feature will affect the dynamic content of the calendar like the events.
Currently, translating the dynamic content without WPML. As a workaround you could create multiple calendars (one for each language) and implement a filter that displays certain calendar depending on the current site language.
