I try to enter the same coupon code in Woo's coupon code field. It works. I've done it many times over. Same problem every time. It doesn't work through the calendar.

Yes, I believe WooCommerce recently disabled the option to add coupon from this function.
I'd suggest you to hide it via STEC -> Fonts & Colors -> Custom style tab:
