I did not expect woo commerce to be essential. Similar event plugings allow for virtual tickets. As long as the "pay at location" is selected woo commerce is not needed.
I did notice that with the install of woocommerce and an update of stec (yes I did both) the calender load became slow.
I don't have a 'tickets' button in the side bar
When under event -> attendance -> tickets is selected only a selection box pops up.

The slowness is due to the .po files. Please sync your .po file with the .pot file using Loco Translate. This will fix it.

The site is in dutch.
I have set it to English for now.
Maybe only people which have their settings set to Dutch will still have the problem.
If you don't have dutch .po file then yes this will cause issues.
