Could you provide the steps as to how to update the plugin?
Additionally, the Code Canyon page indicates that I should receive an email when there is an update, but I never receive the email. I just checked for updates because STEC has been terribly horribly buggy, duplicating my whole database and not accepting when I try to delete certain duplicate event (when it deletes and when it doesnt I have no idea as to its logic). My website is unacceptably slow and, based on the speed improvement as I deleted some events, the size of the database appears to be part of the problem.
Hello, yes, that was how I updated it. However, the "some settings" you refer to are not a little "some"; after your update, all of the style settings were overwritten, fonts, sizes, colors, everything.
For that reason, the "update" necessitates too much extra work, as I run a one-person business and am currently unable to restyle the whole website. And entering the styles is easy. How about all the style-related past troubleshooting? That required research and the many many tickets I submitted and resolved through you. Your update deletes all of those.
Because it deletes everything before seeing the new version, I cannot even use the information in the previous version to recreate them in the new STEC version. So, in effect, the "update" reverts my website to its state 7 months ago.
As my other open ticket described, my website is already suffering a lot because of some bug in STEC's event database. For this reason, I find it essential to update STEC, hoping the new version will no longer have the bug.
Please, I would really appreciate it if you can offer an update solution that does not assume that the customers are bored at home filing their nails in front of television. Please suggest something feasible.
Hello, I tried to update STEC by reuploading the plugin but that has overwritten all my previous settings.
STEC's "Update" article appears to be broken and gives a "Nothing here, sorry" message: https://stachethemes.ticksy.com/article/13222/edit/

Hi,
To update the plugin, download it from CodeCanyon and install it via Dashboard -> Plugins. When prompted, overwrite the existing version.
I assume that's how you updated it.
Some settings may be overwritten or missing due to the significant changes we made. You can review the changelog at the bottom of this page.
You will receive email from Envato about new update if the update is critical meaning there is a security risk.
If you've identified a reproducible bug, please share the details here so I can investigate and resolve it.
