Hi, I purchased your event calendar and am very pleased so far with the results for the calendar page: http://www.caelismith.com/calendar/. This is basically a calendar agenda list for a single artist. I want to put a widget in the sidebar of the sites' regular pages: http:/www.caelismith.com -- In the past I have been hand-typing events, as you can see. Is there shortcode for a sidebar widget or some way to make one? I've searched your support but cannot find anything about widgets. I tried using the regular shortcode but it did not work. Thanks!
Hi! Thanks for responding. When I try to use the shortcode in a sidebar widget I get a very long, blank widget with a lot of empty cells. I'm attaching a screenshot of part of it. It could be that I don't know how to craft the shortcode--I'm just a user, not a developer. But I'm looking for a widget that will list maybe 5-10 or more upcoming events in the Agenda list. Here is the address of the calendar page itself: http://www.caelismith.com/calendar/ for which I used the shortcode in your help section--it looks great.
When do you think you will have a dedicated widget? Or can you help me figure out how to make this work? The main site is www.caelismith.com
Without checking it live I can suggest you to try two things:
First, make sure the shortcode in the side bar is not wrapper in <pre> tag. That may be the reason for the style crash and second go to St. Event Calendar -> General -> Misc and on the bottom you will this "Force load calendar scripts". Select "Yes" and Save the Settings.
Please let me know the result.
About dedicated widget, it certainly is on our to do list, but we have many more important updates coming on right and I really can't give you any ETA. We have one update that will introduce 2 new views and will see if I can add the widget in it.
Hi, Thanks! I was able to get the shortcode to load in the sidebar after clicking "Force load calendar scripts." Now my problem is that I don't want to load the whole calendar, just maybe 5-7 events. I tried various permutations of the shortcodes you posted on this page: https://stachethemes.ticksy.com/article/13221/ but they come out wacky (huge spaces, missing date numbers, etc.) Do you have a suggestion on how I can do this. I don't want to load a huge calendar in the sidebar. Thanks!
The first one (10:16) is what happens when I put in the shortcode [stachethemes_ec agenda_get_n=5] Nothing loads at all below what you see in the image
The second one (10:17) is what I get with the shortcode [stachethemes_ec]. The whole calendar loads, although as you can see the spacing is not ideal--I would love it to be tighter.
Yes, the site is www.caelismith.com. I currently have the [stachethemes_ec] shortcode in the sidebar. Let me know if you need backend access and I'll send a private message.
Oh wait--it worked this time! (?!) thanks so much-- this is what I was looking for.
Thanks so much for your help. I look forward to a dedicated widget that might be styled a little tighter for the sidebar. But this is great for the time being.
I see they are okay now? About the css conflicts, please go to St. Event Calendar -> Fonts & Colors and on the bottom you will see a checkbox "Add !important rule" click it and save the settings.
Tell me when it's done to see if this will fix the problem you are having with the styles.
The styling looks good now, although I would prefer the sidebar to be more compressed-looking (maybe that will be possible when you have a widget.)
I have one more issue (see attachment): For some reason in the start date of an event the first letter of the month is capitalized but for the end date it's not. I'd prefer both to have a capital initial, but it should be consistent, at least. Otherwise it looks sloppy (and it looks like I'm being sloppy.) Is there a way to fix this? I'm sure others have this issue. Thanks! :D
This will capitalize all of the date and time text for so it doesn't look as you said sloppy for which I apologize.
About the spacing unfortunately can't really offer you a solution right now without heavy layout customization because it wasn't really designed for a sidebar. I will see what can be done to boost the timeline for the dedicated widget, but can't really promise to be live in the next month.
Please let me know if I can assist you any further!
That worked perfectly! Thanks so much for the quick fix. I'm really looking forward to the widget and am so grateful for your prompt responses. I've been looking for a calendar plugin with a good agenda few for a while and have tried and discarded a lot of others. So glad I found your plugin. I may be adding to other sites as well.
I'm really glad you like itI'm sorry for the inconvenience caused by the lack of the widget, but we are improving the plugin all the time so I hope you stay around

Good morning!
We don't have dedicated widget yet, but there should be no problem using the normal shortcode in the widget text area. What problems are you having?

Two screenshots:
The first one (10:16) is what happens when I put in the shortcode [stachethemes_ec agenda_get_n=5] Nothing loads at all below what you see in the image

[stachethemes_ec agenda_get_n=5] is the correct shordcode.
Iis it possible to give me live working site with the plugin in the side bar to see what is going on?

Okay--should I click "add important rule" for all the menu tabs?
Check all to be sure

This not how it should be, give me a second.

I have no idea how we missed this with the months... will be fixed with update next week, till then if I may suggest a solution of sort.
Go to St. Event Calendar -> Fonts & Colors - > Custom Styles and add this code:
This will capitalize all of the date and time text for so it doesn't look as you said sloppy for which I apologize.
